The County Government of Kisumu is aiming at 0 waste to dumpsite in a #circulareconomy model where all the #waste gets turned to valuables.
Here we are managing 1 ton of #organic waste daily at Ahero Market, waste that could have otherwise ended up getting dumped at the nearby River Nyando and end up polluting Lake Victoria.
The gas generated is used to prepare meals for the staff.
We are also setting up communal kitchens for traders and residents nearby to cook at very affordable prices.
We are also designing fruit and vegetable driers for drying excess farm produce from the traders at the market.
This will come a long way in preventing post harvest losses, especially when there is bumper harvest.
This is turning Commercial Waste To Energy systems.
