At Friends Theological College Kaimosi, we’re excited to share the remarkable strides we’ve made towards sustainable energy solutions with the installation of the T-rex M100 Biogas System. This innovative system is already making a significant impact on the school’s energy consumption and environmental footprint.

A Sustainable Solution for over 200 Students

With a student population of around 200, the need for an efficient and sustainable energy source was critical. The college previously spent over 20,000 KES each month on traditional cooking energy sources. However, the T-rex M100 biogas system has provided a transformative alternative, using kitchen and farm waste to produce clean, renewable energy.

Key Milestones Achieved:

  1. Biogas Pressure Cooking Pots Delivered
    • We successfully delivered three 50-kilo biogas pressure cooking pots to the school’s kitchen. These pots are designed to handle the cooking needs of the entire student body, ensuring meals are prepared efficiently and sustainably.
  2. Biogas System Integration
    • The T-rex M100 biogas system was seamlessly connected to the kitchen, and we are pleased to report that the digester is fully operational and brimming with biogas. This system not only reduces the school’s reliance on costly fuels but also lowers its carbon footprint.
  3. Training for Kitchen Staff
    • Our team provided hands-on training to the kitchen staff on the proper use of biogas pressure cookers. This ensures that the staff can operate the new equipment confidently and efficiently, maximizing the system’s benefits.
  4. Introduction of Shredding Machine
    • To further enhance the system’s efficiency, we introduced a shredding machine designed to process kitchen and farm waste. The machine breaks down organic materials into smaller pieces, making them easier to digest and convert into biogas. We also conducted training sessions on how to use the shredder effectively.

The Impact of the T-rex M100 Biogas System

The introduction of the T-rex M100 biogas system at Friends Theological College Kaimosi is a testament to the potential of biogas as a sustainable energy solution. By harnessing the power of waste materials, the college is not only reducing its energy costs but also contributing to environmental conservation efforts.

This project showcases how #BiogasTechnology can revolutionize energy use in institutions, providing a clean, efficient, and cost-effective alternative to conventional energy sources. The success of this initiative underscores the importance of adopting #GreenEnergy solutions for a sustainable future.
