In partnership with IPSIA Kenya, we are proud to announce the successful installation of over 30 Flexi Biogas systems across Northern Kenya, reaching communities in Laikipia and surrounding arid counties.
This milestone project empowers pastoral and nomadic households with access to clean cooking energy, organic fertilizer, and sustainable food production solutions — all tailored to their environment and lifestyle.
What Makes This Project Unique?
Each Flexi Biogas system is designed to:
- Convert animal dung and Opuntia cactus (locally available feedstock) into clean biogas
- Produce organic bio-fertilizer for farming
- Support two vertical gardens per household to boost nutrition and food security
- Reduce dependence on firewood and charcoal, helping conserve dwindling forests
Community-Driven Implementation
This project wasn’t just about hardware — it was about people, participation, and transformation:
- Hands-on training for every household on system assembly, feeding, and maintenance
- Practical demonstrations of feeding waste into digesters
- Establishment of climate-smart vertical gardens per homestead
